They've done it, again.

Well, they've done it again.

Obama bloggers--paid or unpaid--have turned yet another democratic blog, the great MyDD, into an "obamablog", where any statement critical of Obama is met with faux outrage, dismissal, and ridicule.  The Obama people have smeared all democrats who do not fall in line with them.  HRC supporters have been banned, warned, had their work edited, and "gang-troll rated" into oblivion.

MyDD has gone the way of daily kos.

The purpose of this diary is to respond to an earlier reccommended diary on the "signs of republican or McCain trolls"--or ways to spot what the author called "democrats supporting McCain."  The diary disturbed me as it seemed the penultimate way to trash every HRC supporter who said anything critical of Obama...in other words, "criticize Obama = republican troll". The diary received many comments, and led subsequently to various commenters awarding "McCain points" to several HRC diarists in other posts, or to employ the "dismiss the argument" tactic by saying "is this snark?"

I don't want the site's obama people to forget that their behavior is transparent and how it is easy to see how they have approached and managed to take over so many blogs, and done so by maligning another democrat and half the democratic party that supports her. If you dare, follow below the fold.

So who will walk the talk?

Since we are approaching May 31, when the DNC rules committee decides on Michigan and Florida, I thought it would be useful to explore the words of Barack Obama and Donna Brazile on the process for selecting the nominee.

From Obama in an interview with CNN:

Obama this week warned Super-delegates to vote the way their states have voted, "if this contest comes down to super-delegates, we are going to be able to say we have more pledged delegates, which means the Democratic voters have spoken. Those super-delegates, those party insiders would have to think long and hard how they would approach the nomination."

What's wrong with voting?

There are calls everywhere for HRC to drop out of the race, and there is much ado about them.  My question is, if Obama and everyone else thinks they've won, then what is the harm in letting the remaining states and territories vote?

As so often cited, the "math" is prohibitive for Clinton, and now, Obama says he can win this without Florida and Michigan. He's already planned to make an announcement that he's won (one metric of course) before everyone has voted.  How can this not be seen as pressure on the supers and everyone else to just kick HRC out?

If Obama, his supporters, and surrogates are confident in their position, and their "steady stream" of SD's are showing up, again, why are they asking her to leave now?

How HRC can win Oregon

This diary is written in support of HRC's continued efforts to campaign across America, specifically Oregon.  While I am aware of the large lead Obama has, it is not out of the question that the margin can be drastically reduced. It will be a winning strategy for HRC to reduce or eliminate this margin, which O has right now precisely because he hasn't been specific.

Oregon is a wonderful state; most of the "blue" from Oregon comes from the western urban areas of Oregon--from Portland to Eugene.  The central and eastern part of the state is about as red as you can get, with the exception of Indian Tribes who often vote for the democrat.

I have seen Obama's "oregon plan", which as everyone knows made the embarassing mistake of placing the Great Lakes in oregon, and proposing changes that have already been in place in ORegon for several years.

What Obama misses entirely is the detail of the critically intertwined issues of environment, economic development, treaty rights, salmon, irrigation and hydropower that form the context of reaching out to Oregon.  I think Obama's strategy is to rev up the masses without much subtance.

Because Obama doesn't plan to debate in Oregon, this provides a perfect opportunity to raise some serious questions for him that he won't be able to answer with sound bites or a large rally.  By strategically placing these issues in front of voters, I think the shine will begin to wear off Obama.

Joe Wilson, National Security, and Barack Obama [updated]

National security has "traditionally" been a repubican mantra, talking point, and perceived strength, that is until GWB lied us into a war on Iraq.  However, we are now seeing the erosion of the republican edge in security, and according to public opinion polls, the public now sees democrats  evenly or more "trusted" to deal with issues of national security.

As a last line of defense (pun intended), the repugs nominate John McCain....who will run a campaign on national security and foreign threats in an attempt to keep attention away from issues at home. Therefore our candidate must be able to address these issues with equal force (pun intended again, as the repugs will wage war!) to disallow the republicans to win at this most critical juncture for our country.

The North Carolina News and Observer featured an article today by Joe Wilson called "Legitimate Questions of Judgment, Experience" that is relevant as North Carolinans consider their vote on Tuesday.
